Eastern Spinebill

I had another, very exciting, first-time encounter the other day. The photos aren't great, but the birds are! This should be the Australian equivalent of Hummingbirds. They can even hover!

Robins

It must be Robin time on the island. Since I posted my first Robin a week or so ago, I have seen at least five or six more. They seem to be all over the place.
above: Mr Scarlet Robin. He's the bravest!
above: Mrs Scarlet Robin. She's quite shy.
above: This probably is their baby Robin. I'm not 100% sure :D

Thornbill

Finally, two better pictures of the Brown Thornbill. The first one gives a bit of a context and scale. It is soo small!

The real treat comes last!

The quality is not brilliant, but those of you who take bird photos would know how precious these pictures are. To see frozen images of the 10 cm Silvereye hunting insects in the air is quite exciting for any wildlife enthusiast. And to be the one captured those frames is even more exciting and motivating. I know I can do better next time.

Another UFO

I have absolutely no idea who these two guys are. Can you help? Please, post suggestions!
[edit: 18 March '08] After examining very carefully every single illustration in my Field Guide I had more luck and came to the conclusion that these are Black-headed Honeyeaters.
