Cute well-camouflaged nocturnal creatures, the Tawiny Frogmouths can only be spotted by the most observant. I haven't had the chance to see them here in Tasmania yet, so I'm posting some old shots taken long time ago in Melbourne.

OH WOW! These are the ones I most want to spot everytime I go on bushwalks, but have never seen one in the wild yet!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a single Tawny Frogmouth here in Tassie, but spotted quite many while I was in VIC and NSW.
You should stop randomly while you walk and just scan the tree branches slowly and carefully. These guys are very well hidden.
